2nd European Laryngological Live Surgery Broadcast live from Poznan

Welcome to the second edition of the European Internet Session of the “Laryngological LIVE Surgery”, which will be held on 30 November 2016. The event is organized in cooperation with the European Laryngological Society (ELS), Department of Otolaryngology of the University of Medical Sciences (UMP) and Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC). The aim of the session is to demonstrate the latest methods used by surgeons of the leading European laryngological clinics. The hospitals from Genoa, Barcelona, Marseille, Luxembourg, Giessen, Leiden, Essen, Cagliari and Poznan will actively participate in this extraordinary event.

The first such session (1st European Laryngological Live Surgery Broadcast) took place on 2 December 2015, bringing together visitors from the furthest corners of the world. Its aim was to show the latest operating methods used by surgeons of the leading European clinics. Likewise, it will happen this time.

Clinics, taking part in the event, will be connected through the platform of remote medical collaboration – medVC, enabling multi-point audio-video communication in real time. medVC allows for multi-stream video from cameras, microscopes, endoscopes and other medical devices in high definition (HD). Thanks to this combination, surgeons will be in constant contact throughout the session and will be able to mutually exchange insights, knowledge and experience. In order to intensify the educational effect, the whole session will also be broadcasted in HD over the Internet using PlatonTV-Interactive Scientific Platform, operated by PSNC.

The transmission will start on 30 November 2016, at 9.00 a.m.
