5G Network Security at the Center of Experts’ Debate

On April 1 this year, workshops dedicated to the challenges and prospects of cybersecurity in next-generation telecommunications infrastructure took place at the headquarters of the NASK National Research Institute (Naukowa i Akademicka Sieć Komputerowa). The event, held as part of the European 5G-TACTIC project, served as a platform for knowledge exchange between academia, public administration, and industry.

Organized in collaboration with the Office of Electronic Communications (Urząd Komunikacji Elektronicznej) and NASK, the workshops focused on key aspects of building trust in modern digital infrastructure. The sessions addressed the resilience of systems and services, emphasizing the role of cross-sector collaboration as the foundation of security amid technological transformation.

Discussions featured representatives from leading mobile network operators, technology companies, and research institutions, enabling a multifaceted view of data protection and system continuity. Maksymilian Furmann from PCSS’s Next-Generation Networks Department presented the current results of internationally conducted research efforts. The event confirmed that ensuring a high level of 5G network cybersecurity is a shared responsibility among multiple stakeholders and requires ongoing dialogue between entities driving future technologies.

Participants in the sessions included representatives from the following companies: COMP, INNERGO, IS-Wireless, Yotta Volt Ltd, Orange, T-Mobile Polska, PLAY, and Polkomtel Sp. z o.o.
