80 years of the University Library in Wrocław – PCSS Experts at the Conference

Between 4 and 5 December 2025, the anniversary conference “When Tradition Meets Technology. 80 Years of the University Library in Wrocław, 20 Years of the Digital Library of the University of Wrocław and Future Directions” was held at the University of Wrocław Library (BUWr). The event offered an important opportunity to reflect on the role of academic libraries in the era of digital transformation, and thus the participation of PCSS representatives — a key technological partner — was an essential part of the programme.

Representing PCSSBłażej Betański, leader of the team developing the DInGO software suite, delivered a presentation titled “From Pioneering Digitisation to Global Access: 20 Years of the UWr Digital Library and the dLibra System.” Next, Maksymilian Mikulski gave a talk on “Researching User Needs.” Tomasz Parkoła, Head of the Network Services Division at PCSS, presented “The PIAST-AI Factory: Strengthening the National and European Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem.” In addition, Tomasz Parkoła and Aleksandra Nowak took part in a panel discussion.

The New Media Department provided comprehensive technical support for the event. Thanks to advanced tools for live broadcasting and content distribution, participants could fully engage with the conference programme both on-site and online.

The event was also an opportunity to highlight the 20-year collaboration between PCSS and the University Library in Wrocław — a partnership that, over two decades, has significantly contributed to the development of digital resources, collection digitisation, and the creation of modern digital library infrastructures at academic institutions.

For many years, PCSS has actively supported the digital transformation of libraries and cultural institutions, offering advanced technological solutions, expertise in digitisation, and a reliable IT infrastructure.
