DARIAH HUB Meeting in Warsaw

DARIAH HUB Meeting in Warsaw

On 24 and 25 September 2025, the Institute of Computer Science PAS (IPI PAN) in Warsaw hosted representatives of research institutions from across Poland, who gathered for a meeting called “DARIAH HUB. Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities – DARIAH-PL.” As a member of the DARIAH-PL consortium, our Center was happy to participate in this event through our experts: Aleksandra Nowak, Maciej Głowiak, Marcin Heliński, Michał Lorek, Bartosz Szymendera, and Tomasz Umerle.

The event was organized primarily to present the consortium members’ progress with all the project activities that had been realized to that date. So, among other topics, the agenda included presentations on the Interdisciplinary Research Platform (PBI) and the Archaeological Module (RADOGOST), which were introduced by the PCSS team.

Bartosz Szymendera and Marcin Heliński presented the current status of PCSS advancement concerning DARIAH-PL, and demonstrated the functionalities of the PBI, discussing the implemented technological solutions. This topic was continued during technical workshops led by Michał Lorek (instructional module handling) and Marcin Heliński (annotation adding, and tool launching within the PBI). Future users of the platform were also shown example use cases of the PBI and functionalities of the Archaeological Module. PCSS’ presentations were complemented by contributions from other consortium partners, including the Institute of Art PAS, Poznań University of Technology, and Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

The DARIAH HUB meeting provided an excellent opportunity for the exchange of experience and knowledge harmonization among consortium members – which is vital regarding the project’s ongoing development. For PCSS, it was most of all a chance to showcase the Interdisciplinary Research Platform infrastructure developed at our Centre — a digital research environment for scholars working in the fields of cultural and historical heritage. Its features include the ability to add and browse diverse resources related to humanities, arts and archaeology. Notably, the PBI presents enriched data through the use of an extended knowledge graph; it also includes private research spaces, and — most importantly — enables sharing of research data.
The “DARIAH HUB. Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities – DARIAH-PL” project is provided with funds from KPO (the National Recovery Plan).

That is the logo and identifying graphics for the **Krajowy Plan Odbudowy (KPO)**, which translates to the **National Recovery Plan** of Poland. It features: 1. The **stylized logo** on the left, with the text "KRAJOWY PLAN ODBUDOWY." 2. The **flag of Poland** (white and red). 3. The **flag of the European Union** on the right, as the plan is part of the EU's larger **NextGenerationEU** recovery instrument.
