An increasing number of companies and organizations, including major brands, see the source of lasting competitive advantage in creating new services and products in cooperation with external partners, following the paradigm of open innovation. This is also the direction in which Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) are developing, with the goal of driving the digital transformation of industry by increasing the availability of advanced technological services. Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center participates in numerous DIH type projects and hubs, such as the national DIH agro, specialized in technologies for agriculture; the national DIH security, specialized in security technologies; the European EOSC DIH, creating a cloud for open science; and the regional HPC4Poland DIH.
The HPC4Poland Digital Innovation Hub (DIH), coordinated by PCSS, has been selected as one of 11 Polish hubs of European significance, thereby opening the door for the entire consortium to foreign markets. The project assumes the implementation of at least 5% of services abroad. The price list, developed through business analysis and negotiations with partners, includes 152 complementary technical, business, and consulting services, which together form a digital transformation proposal for enterprises and public entities that is currently unavailable on the commercial market. PCSS has included 25 of its services in the price list, declaring the performance of 215 services over 3 years. Thanks to the project, EDIH clients can finance up to 100% of the value of digital transformation services between 2023 and the end of 2025. High quality and good cooperation between partners and clients during this period may lead to continuation in subsequent years.
Currently, the consortium is refining the scope of service packages, establishing market segmentation in geographical and technical aspects, and defining rules and levels of customer service. We are also selecting service supervisors and innovation brokers, whose task will be to represent clients within the consortium and conduct cooperation and negotiations with other EDIHs at home and abroad. Support for EDIHs is provided by PARP, FPPP, and the Digital Transformation Accelerator selected by the European Commission, which is responsible for the cross-border flow of services between EDIHs as well as their professionalization and standardization at the European level.
