HPC Supercomputer Service

Our HPC supercomputer service (High-Performance Computing) provides advanced computing infrastructure designed to handle the most demanding scientific, engineering, and commercial tasks. Thanks to modern hardware and high-performance tools, the HPC cluster enables simulations, data analysis, and modeling at a scale beyond the reach of traditional computers.

  • Top-level performance: Our supercomputers are equipped with the latest Intel/AMD processors and a large amount of RAM (up to 768 GB per node), delivering exceptional computing power.
  • Modern software: We maintain up-to-date operating system and library versions to support advanced applications and user scripts. In addition, we offer the option to install custom software versions, either locally or by using publicly available containers with ready-to-use runtime environments.
  • Technical support: Our HPC support team provides help with code optimization, performance debugging, and resolving software compatibility issues.
  • Flexible access and billing model: Our HPC supercomputer service offers a flexible model for accessing computing resources, tailored to different user needs.
  • Standard access: Computational jobs have exclusive access to the allocated resources (processors, memory) for the duration of the computation. After the job finishes, the resources are automatically released and made available to other users. Billing is based solely on the resources actually used while the application is running.
  • Resource reservation: We also offer the possibility to reserve a specified amount of computing resources for a defined period for a particular user or client. This model is ideal for projects requiring guaranteed hardware access during a chosen time window, enabling precise task planning.

Who can use the service? The supercomputer service is intended for academic communities, research institutes, and companies looking for high-performance computing solutions. It supports advanced research and problem-solving in areas such as:

  • climate modeling,
  • chemical and biological simulations,
  • big data analysis,
  • engineering design in materials and mechanical engineering.

Automatic access for students and researchers: As part of our support for academia, we offer the possibility of automatic trial access to supercomputer resources for students and academic staff, without the need to submit resource access applications. This allows any interested researcher or student to quickly access our resources and test their applications at scale without lengthy formalities. Access for students and staff of scientific institutions is free.

If you are already one of our users, you can start using the computing resources via interactive tools, the web SSH terminal, or the traditional SSH tool.

Information on how to become a user is available on the portal: https://help.pcss.plcloud.pl.

PCSS resources are made available for the following tasks:

  • increasing OPI PIB computing power and improving user access to teleinformatics systems operated for the Ministry of Science and Higher Education,
  • computing grants for the scientific community in Poland under the SPUB MNiSW subsidy (Special Research Equipment Program).

The processing infrastructure was partly financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education as part of investments related to education and scientific activity, within the expansion of the KDM infrastructure for the Poznań scientific community (grant nos. 7414/II/SP/2023, 7512/II/SP/2024, P/II/SP/0353/2025/06).
