Inauguration of the UMWW Council for Artificial Intelligence

In the headquarters of the Marshal’s Office of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poznań, the activities of the Council for Artificial Intelligence were inaugurated. As an advisory body, it will support the processes of building a modern economy and administration based on AI foundations. The main goal of the established body is to develop innovative technological solutions, with particular emphasis on their practical application in the areas of healthcare, ecology, and public services provided to the region’s residents.

The Council includes three experts representing the Poznańskie Centrum Superkomputerowo-Sieciowe (PCSS):PCSS Director Robert Pękal, with many years of experience in the development and maintenance of IT infrastructure as well as HPC and AI projects;
Tomasz Parkoła, Head of the PCSS Network Services Division, an expert in network and cloud infrastructure, open science, digitization, and data management; Mikołaj Buchwald, PhD in computational neuroscience, leading R&D projects in data analysis and visualization with applications including medical ones.

The participation of PCSS representatives in the work of this team will allow for the utilization of their extensive expertise in high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure, cloud services, data management, and computational neuroscience. This knowledge is to provide the substantive foundation necessary for the effective implementation of advanced artificial intelligence systems in voivodeship structures.

The establishment of the Council opens a three-year period of intensive work on the digitization and modernization of Greater Poland. The involvement of PCSS specialists in this project aims to strengthen the voivodeship’s position as a leader in innovation, while ensuring that the implemented technologies will genuinely improve administrative efficiency and the quality of life for citizens. These actions align with the region’s strategic development direction, in which modern technology serves society.
