Creating a modern online platform for young athletes

“Development of e-services to improve physical fitness, health awareness and stress resistance among young people” is a project that will create a modern online platform dedicated to young athletes, facilitating access to training and promoting an active lifestyle. The project is coordinated by the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center, while the partners include Koszykarski Klub Sportowy Basket Poznań and KKS Sporty Walki.

Announcement of the new map of NATO Defence Innovation Accelerators under the DIANA programme

On 14 March 2024, a new map of test and accelerator areas under the NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) programme was announced. The PSNC AerospaceLab in Kąkolewo is one of dozens of locations already selected in the North Atlantic Alliance for test centres (DIANA Test Centres). A new Polish contribution to the programme is the AGH University of Krakow, which together with the Krakow Technology Park will jointly run a branch of the NATO Defence Innovation Accelerator (Krakow DIANA Accelerator).

Validation of the experiment in the AIM2ASSIST project

The aim of the AIM2ASSIST project, conducted in collaboration with MASTA, MCH Poland and the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, is to overcome the barrier of time and workload required to define production technology in a MeMOM-type system. During the recently completed experiment, the expert team developed and extended the MeMOM platform with three new software components.

Presidium of the PIONIER Consortium Council elected for 2024-2026

The reporting and election meeting of the PIONIER Consortium Council took place in the Staszica Palace, the seat of the Polish Academy of Sciences, in Warsaw, during which the election of the Council’s Presidium took place. Dr eng. Maciej Stroiński – Deputy Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Development of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center – was elected Chairman.

Success of the Researchers’ Night in Poznań

The Researchers’ Night project, in which the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center has been an active participant for many years, was awarded 14 out of 15 points in the European Commission’s Horizon competition. The evaluation of the project highlighted, among other things, a comprehensive and interesting programme, interesting promotional activities, as well as the diversity of scientific fields represented by the consortium partners.

Visit to the interior of the ITER fusion reactor

Representatives of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center took part in a meeting organised at the headquarters of the ITER Organisation (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor), prepared by the management of the TSVV11 (Theory, Simulation, Validation and Verification) EUROfusion and the Dutch eScience Centre. During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to take a closer look at the world’s largest fusion reactor.

Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center has joined the European digital brain research infrastructure – EBRAINS

In January 2024, the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) affiliated with the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBCH PAS) joined EBRAINS as a full member, thus gaining the opportunity to co-design research infrastructure and contribute to the development of digital tools to support brain research. The M. Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences has also joined the association as an Associated Member as of 2024.
