PCSS has joined the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications (PIIT) — it’s a strategic step that strengthens collaboration with leaders of the Polish IT sector and opens new possibilities for co-shaping the country’s digital future. As a pioneer in HPC, AI, and cybersecurity, PCSS will contribute unique R&D expertise, helping guide the development of technology and digital policy.

PCSS has begun cooperation with Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) — one of the leading U.S. research laboratories and a NASA partner. This collaboration opens up new opportunities for PCSS and Polish science in advanced data analytics, ecosystem modelling, and Artificial Intelligence. The joint work aims to accelerate groundbreaking research in key fields such as climate modelling and materials science.

PCSS has launched a new API service that provides students and researchers with fast access to advanced AI models. The service supports research, teaching, and academic projects. It operates through a token pool for students and grant-based access for researchers.

PCSS hosted the Piast-AI Business Day – an event allowing experts from the Centre, industry, and public administration to discuss the true needs of companies in the field of AI. Participants learned about the current AI resources available to Polish businesses and took part in some inspiring networking sessions. The Day concluded with a tour of PCSS laboratories and the Data Center, showcasing the advanced infrastructure supporting future technologies.

During his two-day stay in Poznań, Loïg Chesnais-Girard, President of the Regional Council of Brittany, found time to visit PCSS headquarters. He was presented with the Centre’s latest work, including innovations in classical and quantum computing technologies.

As a coordinator and operator of the PIONIER network, PCSS presented innovative solutions from its ongoing projects at the SC25 conference in St. Louis. The highlight was an interactive demo of PIONIER-Q, part of the European EuroQCI initiative, focused on building a Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) network connecting all Polish high-performance computing centres.

On 6 November 2025, PCSS hosted the first edition of the “CyberSecure SMEs” training, organized as part of the EDIH CyberSec project, in which PCSS is the lead institution.

PCSS once again became a global telemedicine hub by hosting the 10th edition of the European Laryngological Live Surgery Broadcast. Thanks to PCSS’ advanced network infrastructure, tens of thousands of viewers worldwide could watch complex laryngological surgeries broadcast live from European clinics. The event reaffirmed PCSS’ significant role in international medical education and training.

Aleksandra Nowak, the Head of the Digital Libraries and Knowledge Platforms Department at PCSS, presented the Centre’s cultural-heritage activities during the E-RIHS ERIC Opening Days in Italy, highlighting PCSS’ contributions to ECCCH, European research infrastructures, and the ERIHS.pl project.

PCSS participated in the prestigious “Agriculture 4.0 – Innovation and the Future of Polish Agriculture” conference, held on 13 November 2025. PCSS expert Michał Błaszczak presented key insights on implementing Agriculture 4.0 solutions within the agrifoodTEF Poland initiative.

As part of the EdgePL project, 32 pilot edge nodes (Edge Computing) will be launched creating the next-generation infrastructure integrated with the nationwide PIONIER network, operated by PCSS. The role of the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center is to develop the architecture, security standards, and management of this system, which will enable testing of digital services with extremely low latency. The project aims to significantly increase data-processing efficiency and achieve a major leap in the quality of digital services in Poland by 2030.

The G4PL – Genomics for Poland project, led by dr. hab. Luiza Handschuh, prof. ICHB PAN, has received funding under FENG 2.4. This paves the way for collaboration between ICHB PAN, PCSS, and eleven leading research institutions across Poland.
