The 3rd edition of the prestigious “Golden 100 of Wielkopolska” company ranking organized by a daily newspaper “Głos Wielkopolski” took place in Poznań on 22 September 2025. The event was attended by the Director of PCSS – Robert Pękal, the Deputy Director of the Center – Urszula Grygier-Soboń, and the Head of our Network Services Department – Tomasz Parkoła. During the official gala, six leaders of Wielkopolska business were distinguished.

We are very happy that so many people visited our headquarters during this year’s European Researchers’ Night! Each year on the last Friday of September, PCSS opens up for the outside audience. Our experts have special workshops, lectures and presentations prepared for this occasion. They cover a wide range of topics – from sciences to arts and humanities with a mandatory inclusion of the cutting edge technologies.

What is the role of PCSS in the DARIAH HUB project concerning digital humanities? During the promotional meeting of DARIAH HUB in Warsaw, our Center presented PCSS’ solutions created especially for this field.

During this year’s edition of the AGROSHOW fair in Bednary, representatives of the PCSS’ Internet of Things Department laid the ground for cooperation with companies creating modern solutions for agriculture. The event was a perfect opportunity to gain the attention of companies interested in the development and testing of technologies such as AI and robotics.

The PLASMA Conference is a prestigious event concerning plasma research and applications, organized by the Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser Microfusion (IFPiLM) in Warsaw. This year’s edition of the event was attended by PCSS specialists – Michał Owsiak and Bartłomiej Pogodziński from the Internet of Things Technology Department. They presented the status of research within the Advanced Computing Hubs and the Implementation of Data Management Plan projects.

In September PCSS hosted the HEATWISE project workshop, bringing together experts and technology enthusiasts. Participants focused on the key topic, namely methods and tools for modeling and simulating data centers to optimize cooling and enable the reuse of waste heat.

This year’s edition of the “Science with a Palace in the Background” festival took place on 20 and 21 September in the grounds of the Palace in Jabłonna. During these two days visitors enjoyed workshops, shows and experiments prepared by some Polish Academy of Sciences’ institutes – including PCSS. The Festival’s goal is to popularize Polish scientific achievements among both children and adults.

For the Science4Business project we have joined forces with the Poznań University of Economics and Business (project leader) and the Poznań University of Medical Sciences. This initiative is designed to strengthen the effectiveness of Technology Transfer Centres and Special Purpose Companies within research institutions — helping in their cooperation with industry and thus enabling the translation of scientific discoveries into real-world innovations.

Two important initiatives – which are of great significance for PCSS – have officially been launched at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Both of them – namely the Polish node of the European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science (E-RIHS ERIC) and the E-RIHS project – are financed from the European Funds for a Modern Economy (FENG) programme.
