Poland has just announced its participation in the EU’s AI Gigafactories program and the basis of  this initiative is the PIAST AI Factory at PCSS.

Until now we used both PCSS and PSNC as the acronyms of Polish and English versions of our Center’s name respectively. On 1 June we officially unified that, and since then we shall be known as PCSS only, all around the world. To go along with that, we have given our logo a slight makeover and we hope you’ll like it!

The 2025 edition of TNC – one of the largest research and education networking conferences in the world – marked the 10th anniversary of PCSS’ role as this prestigious event’s official technological partner. “Brighter Together” was the official slogan of this year’s meeting organized in a popular English seaside resort.

Although we did not participate in this event in person this year, PCSS appeared on stage of the 2025 NVIDIA GTC in Paris. It is no secret that our official cooperation with NVIDIA and ORCA Computing, concerning the development of hybrid quantum-classical solutions, has been going on for a year now. But the conference also had a strong AI context, emphasized in Jensen Huang’s speech.

Lightning-fast operations on massive datasets – that’s what the KMD project is all about in a nutshell. At this year’s ISC we presented KMD4EOSC state-of-the-art data processing plus storage services dedicated to scientific data, including research results, in accordance with the idea of Fair Data.

From Hamburg we return to Poznań to find out more about KMD4SCIENCE. Let’s revisit the initial meeting of that undertaking that was organised at PCSS headquarters and attended by around 90 participants, representing 11 member units of the project consortium.

Another project that has had its first meeting at PCSS is ŚWIATOWID. The main goal of it is the development of geographically distributed infrastructure for analysis of GNSS and ADS-B systems radio signals, based on synchronised receiver stations located along the north-east border of Poland connected by the broadband fibre network.

Five representatives of our Center, including the Director himself, took part in discussion panels during a seminar devoted to the use of artificial intelligence in transport. PCSS was an honorary patron of this event, which took place in the beautiful city of Kraków in the south of Poland.

PCSS Head of the Internet of Things Technology Department Marcin Płóciennik presented the agrifoodTEF project at the SCAR/BIOEAST Conference. The event was organised as a part of Poland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, with the European Commission as one of the co-organisers.

As Wielkopolska and Lower Saxony have had a friendly and successful cooperation for years, the Prime Minister of this northwestern German state paid us a visit during his short stay in Poznań in May of this year.
