PCSS as a Golden Sponsor of the GHOST Day conference

On May 8-9, 2025, the next edition of the GHOST Day: AMLC conference took place at the Lecture Center of the Poznan University of Technology, dedicated to the practical applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence. PCSS supported the event as a Gold Sponsor, presenting its contribution to the development of national research infrastructure and modern algorithmic solutions. This year’s meeting gathered nearly 450 representatives from the worlds of science, business, as well as students from Poland and abroad.

During this year’s edition of the conference, special attention was paid to the infrastructure necessary for conducting advanced computations. In a panel discussion titled “High Performance Computing – the foundation of ML research?“, Dr. Ariel Oleksiak, Head of the Energy-Efficient ICT Technologies Department, participated alongside experts from AMD and the Łukasiewicz Research Network. The debate analyzed the impact of high-performance computing systems on the pace and quality of machine learning research, highlighting the necessity of integrating HPC resources with modern AI model training processes.

In the exhibition zone, the PCSS booth provided a space to showcase a wide spectrum of the Center’s activities. Particular emphasis was placed on introducing the objectives and progress of the PIAST-AI project, which aims to build modern infrastructure for artificial intelligence. Participants had the opportunity to directly explore the technological offerings of PCSS and obtain information on available e-infrastructure resources dedicated to both the scientific and economic communities.

The expert contribution of PCSS employees was also showcased during the poster session. Two scientific papers were presented regarding the practical application of artificial intelligence models in key sectors of the economy and science:

  • Meteorological forecasting: presenting the results of work on utilizing advanced AI models to create precise weather forecasts,

  • Energy and building management: discussing the integration process of Large Language Models (LLMs) with databases and the analysis of data from Building Management Systems (BMS) to optimize energy consumption.

The GHOST Day: AMLC 2025 event once again confirmed its role as a key platform for exchanging experiences in the field of AI and ML, connecting the Polish scientific community with the dynamically evolving technology sector.
