PCSS Experts at BalticNOG 2025

BalticNOG is an initiative that brings together professionals from various fields with the aim of enhancing economic competitiveness and fostering deeper integration across Scandinavia, the Baltic States, as well as Central and Eastern Europe. This year’s edition took place on 24 and 25 September, in the Lithuanian capital city of Vilnius. During the event, PCSS experts – Roman Łapacz and Łukasz Łopatowski delivered two presentations.

Roman discussed topics related to standards-based orchestration of network services using open-source tools. The solutions he presented, developed as a part of the GÉANT GN5-2 project, and have already been implemented in the PIONIER network as production services, with the goal of building a system enabling automated and intelligent network management. The emphasis was also put on the role of artificial intelligence in facilitating the implementation of systems based on network operations processes.

Łukasz, in turn, presented the virtual Network Operations Center (vNOC) based on the nmaas platform. The Center allows users to easily configure a secure cloud environment for network management. The development of vNOC was tightly connected to the GÉANT GN5-2 project and the finished product is currently available as a production service.

We are looking forward to the 2026 edition of BalticNOG, which is going to take place in Riga.
