Poznań City Lab: Digital Twin and Future Technologies in the Heart of Greater Poland region

As part of the Poznań City Lab initiative, an innovative virtual space has been launched to showcase advanced technological solutions developed in Poznań. The project, based on digital twin technology, serves as a platform for testing and demonstrating artificial intelligence systems and modern digital infrastructure.

A key element of the project is the migration of the MTP Group’s East Hall architecture into the NVIDIA Omniverse environment. In collaboration with BizzTech, a precise “digital twin” has been created, serving as a virtual laboratory. This space enables safe simulation, testing, and presentation of AI solutions as well as complex urban and industrial infrastructure in a controlled digital environment.

The virtual space integrates the core competencies of technology partners, emphasizing the foundations of the modern digital economy:

  • PCSS: Showcases advanced capabilities in High Performance Computing (HPC), cybersecurity systems, and breakthrough quantum technologies, including the Polish quantum computer Piast-Q.

  • Beyond.pl: Presents the concept of a secure and sovereign “green AI factory,” forming the foundation for continent-scale projects.

The presented solutions align with a broader strategy to position the region as a key technological hub in Europe. Thanks to its robust infrastructure and strong science–business synergy, Poznań is recognized as an ideal location for AI Gigafactory-type investments. The city actively supports the development of the Baltic AI Gigafactory project, aiming to strengthen Poland’s position on the global innovation map and ensure digital sovereignty in data processing and artificial intelligence.

The Poznań City Lab initiative demonstrates that integrating advanced computing power, quantum technologies, and sustainable IT infrastructure creates a unique ecosystem for advancing Industry 4.0.
