EuroQCI AT-CZ-PL
Cross-Border Quantum Communication (EuroQCI) Austria- Czech Republic- Poland

This project contributes to the EuroQCI initiative and activities by implementing dedicated QCI infrastructure between Austria, Czechia and Poland. The proposed links will contribute to overall EuroQCI initiative, establish dedicated links, services and activities connected with the EuroQCI initiative.

Project will concern the design, deployment and operation of cross-border quantum links between partnering member states, Austria, Czechia and Poland.

This action will ensure the creation and upkeep of secure cross-border connections, used for quantum communication between participating entities, as well as developing use cases within the created infrastructure.

The project will have a positive impact in strengthening Europe’s position in the growing quantum communications market, by offering real-life implementations for quantum communications, which will foster the growth of knowledge in the field. Unprecedented security offered by Quantum Key Distribution is vital in the age of emerging quantum technologies, which can break encryption in algorithms which were until recently deemed secure.

The created QCI infrastructure will establish service connections between Quantum Computing and HPC services, as well as EuroQCS sites. Project will also contribute to Europe’s technological sovereignty and digital resilience. It will improve reliability and backup capacity for critical networks, support new applications in HPC, quantum computing, and AI, and foster innovation in secure digital services.

The project’s balanced consortium ensures synergies across sectors, driving long-term benefits for citizens, research, and industry.
