ECHOLOT will support the development of the European Cultural Heritage Collaboration Cloud (ECCCH) by establishing an interoperability hub that facilitates the exchange of cultural heritage data between systems.
The hub will enable cultural heritage institutions to publish their data across multiple aggregators, such as the Common European Cultural Heritage Data Space and open knowledge platforms within the Wikimedia ecosystem.
It will also enable the curation and enrichment of cultural heritage data through AI-enhanced workflows that combine automated processing with human input, while preserving the value and integrity of cultural heritage datasets through the embedding of metadata and provenance. Work on the project will strengthen existing practices across the cultural heritage sector and ultimately increase the availability of cultural heritage data for reuse and collaboration across institutions and sectors.
ECHOLOT’s solutions will be validated and tested in five case studies involving various cultural heritage institutions. The project will also develop innovative business models, training resources, interactive workshops, and best practices in open-source software to support capacity building and long-term sustainability.

- providing AI-powered modules for curating and enriching diverse cultural datasets,
- supporting the capture and expression of detailed metadata regarding provenance and rights,
- facilitating collaboration and business model innovation,
- supporting the sustainable adoption and continued joint development of the new system by target communities.
