SIEUSOIL is designing, implementing and testing a shared China‐EU Web Observatory platform that provides Open Linked Data to monitor status and threats of soil and assists in decision making for sustainable support of agro‐ ecosystem functions, in view of the projected climate change. The Observatory platform supports the wise management of soil at field level through customisable modules and provides showcases of good practices on soil management for both EU and China. The final target is to support sustainable management of soil, increase land productivity sustainably, reduce crop yield variability across time and space, and support the policy formulation process. Innovative practices and tools are tested in SIEUSOIL and their impact is assessed for improved soil fertility and land suitability. The Project runs for 36 months, commencing on June 2019, ending on May 2022.
The project is implemented by a scientific and industrial consortium of 16 partners from 8 EU Member States, Switzerland and 7 from China, including the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Environment – School of Agriculture) as coordinator, Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, and others.
