Resilient Cultural Heritage – PCSS participates in a new initiative

The European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage (RCH) will officially launch its research and innovation partnership at the end of September in Marseille. PCSS is participating in the initiative, which brings together 90 entities from 30 European countries. The project aims to increase the resilience of cultural heritage to the effects of climate change and the accompanying environmental and social challenges.

The RCH initiative aims to create a sustainable space for collaboration, connecting research funding institutions, ministries, research units, organizations dedicated to the protection of cultural heritage, as well as experts, practitioners, and local communities. The project is planned as a ten-year endeavor, with completion scheduled for 2035. The initiative received co-funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe Framework Program.

The kick-off meeting in Marseille will be hosted by the Foundation for the Sciences of Patrimoine and the Mucem – Museum of Civilizations of Europe and the Mediterranean.

In the project structure, PCSS has been entrusted with the role of partner responsible for digital support for the consultation processes. PCSS will be responsible for adapting and managing the Heritage Research Forum digital platform.

This tool will be used to:

  • conduct consultations and gather feedback from stakeholders,
  • improve knowledge exchange between project participants,
  • support the work of expert and advisory structures established within the partnership.

The implementation of the Heritage Research Forum will enable the effective transformation of findings and input from the research community and practitioners into structured knowledge, which can be used in other areas and activities of the project.
