“The Golden 100 of Wielkopolska” with a Quantum Flavour

On 22 September 2025, the Stanisław Moniuszko Grand Theatre in Poznań was the venue for “The Golden 100 of Wielkopolska” gala, based on the financial ranking of companies from Wielkopolska (western region of Poland), organized by Głos Wielkopolski daily paper. The event was attended by PCSS Management representatives: the Director Robert Pękal, the Deputy Director Urszula Grygier-Soboń,  and the Head of Network Services Division Tomasz Parkoła.

“The Golden 100 of Wielkopolska” is an important project that highlights the commitment and efforts of companies from Wielkopolska (Greater Poland), while also recognizing and rewarding their professionalism and strengthening their market position. The crucial partner of the ranking is the Wielkopolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

During the gala, which concluded the third edition of the ranking, six leading companies from Wielkopolska which best represent regional entrepreneurship were distinguished:

– Port Lotniczy Poznań-Ławica Airport
– Bridgestone Poznań
– Apator Powogaz
– Grupa WPIP
– NOVOL
– PROMAG

Robert Pękal, the Director of PCSS, had the opportunity to address the complexity of quantum computer technology to the audience:

— Quantum computers are nothing new. They have been present on the market for quite some time now, but they are still in the development phase. Quantum computer is not a cure for everything. Classic computers will continue to exist. The answer to the question of whether quantum computers can change the economy is both “yes and no”. Today, quantum computers are commonly used in areas such as pharmacy, finance, and logistics – but still as proof of concept, in experimental settings.
