XX International Symposium on Sound Engineering and Direction with the participation of PCSS

This year’s edition of this unique event, dedicated to technical topics related to acoustics and the perception of sound by audiences, took place from October 8-10. The symposium was organized by the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.

The event brought together experts from other institutions as well, including the Poznań University of Technology, the Poznań Academy of Music, the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań, the Polskie Towarzystwo Akustyczne, and the Poznańskie Centrum Superkomputerowo-Sieciowe.

On October 9, symposium participants had the opportunity to visit the PCSS Art and Science Laboratory. Guests were guided by Jan Skorupa, an expert from the New Media department. During the visit, the secrets of ambisonic recording and production — implemented as part of the Immersify project — were presented. The same day, visitors could attend the opening vernissage of the interactive audiovisual installation ‘Piano Genie. Dźwięk od ręki’, as well as enjoy a unique opportunity for a ‘behind the scenes’ visit to the Poznań Grand Theatre, featuring a presentation of a modernized stage installation based on the L-Isa system.
