Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center is formally affiliated to the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

 

PSNC is an international node of the European Research Area that operates a technologically advanced e-Infrastructure and continuously expands its activity as a research and development center in ICT.

 

We actively participate in R&D projects funded primarily through European Framework Programs and have been involved in more than 300 projects and coordinated 43 of them.

 

PSNC is the operator of the Polish optical research and education network PIONIER. The consortium partners are the Polish Metropolitan Area Networks and HPC Centers based around the most exquisite research institutions in Poland. PIONIER provides access to state-of-the-art network infrastructure and advanced services, which in turn enable implementation of numerous national and international projects in such areas as high-performance computing, telemedicine, multimedia streaming and data management.

In recent years, 13 international projects at PSNC were linked to High Performance Computing, such as EuroCC, EuroHPC, Hidalgo, PRACE-LAB or Slices projects.  Some HPC projects are concerned with the development of Competence Centers in application areas, by which we support competence development of future users of pre-Exascale and Exascale computers in Europe.
