Yes, you may! Well, May in Poland starts with a long weekend, but even with all the grilling and chilling, we still think about the AI factories which are going to transform Europe into the AI Continent.
The long May weekend is a perfect opportunity to enjoy nature. We go even further and present Nature – the magazine with a very interesting article on long-distance quantum communications. To fully enjoy the time we have on our hands, we actually need to feel safe and sound – fortunately cybersecurity is also our thing, so I guess there are no worries in that respect. Finally, we can focus our attention on fun and games: a hackathon or an online quantum game perhaps?
May you enjoy the reading!

AI Continent – that is how the European Commission sees Europe in the near future. The main step towards that is the creation of a network of AI Factories, one of which is going to be created in Poznań.
The Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PCSS) and Wielkopolska Agency for Enterprise Development (WARP) start cooperation aiming at dissemination and promotion of information about cybersecurity and the security of ICT systems. This joint effort is focused on entrepreneurs in Wielkopolska Voivodeship.
The European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science (E-RIHS) has recently been changed into the European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC). Let’s find out how this change influences the position of this institution.

At the beginning of April we had the pleasure of not only participating in the INSECON congress, but also assuring cybersecurity for this event. It was a part of the EDIH CyberSec project, which is lead by PSNC.
The newest edition of QL Future hackathon took place at the PSNC headquarters in April. The participants faced challenges connected with health, finances, energy and land management.
Projects
The main goal of the Next Data AI project is to create a tool which will have a crucial role in supporting radiological diagnostics. Just as the name suggests,it involves the use of AI in some of its aspects. Let’s discover the details.
PSNC, CBK PAS in Borówiec, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and AGH University in Kraków create together the Q-ChronoS consortium. Its main goal is to develop systems of two mobile quantum sensors based on optical atomic clocks and an infrastructure for optical frequency transfer, which will enable their use in various locations in Poland.
Experience quantum technology while playing an online game. “Parallel Quest” was created by PSNC experts as a part of the Superheroes 4 Science project.
PSNC’s quantum technology expert Piotr Rydlichowski together with a group of specialists from Toshiba’s Cambridge Research Laboratory and GÉANT wrote an article titled “Long-Distance Coherent Quantum Communications in Deployed Telcom Networks”. Before you read it, here is some more info on this publication.
