The first demonstration of stream 4K transmission was held on September 29th 2009 with the use of the RTP protocol and the JPEG2000 algorithm.

The 4K Initiative was presented during the ‘Researcher’s Night’ event on September 25th 2009.

The International Supercomputing Conference also known as ISC for the first time gathers the environment of manufacturers, software and system developers and high performance computer users. It is the largest European HPC event, taking place from 23 to 26 of June 2009 in Hamburg. It is already the third time that the PIONIER Consortium represents the Polish science at the accompanying exhibition among 120 other exhibitors from 45 countries.

The Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center participated in the 4th International Film Festival Cinemagic.pl that took place in Płock, 19-21 June 2009. The PSNC was an official partner of the festival, enabling the presentation of the 4K Technology by Ted Schilowitz of the RED Digital Camera. During this year`s edition of Poznań Media Expo television fair, the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center together with its partners: The International Fair of Poznań and the TK3 Group is proud to present the initiative of 4k high definition cinema in Poland.

Preparations for the Poznań Media Expo television fair, that is going to take place on 19-21 February 2009 at the International Fair of Poznań, are going on.

A major part of the 4K node at Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center is currently being tested. As we wait for the rest of the elements to be delivered, we are checking, configuring and testing the equipment we’ve already got.
