PosEmo
An automatic tool for estimating person’s engagement and emotional valence based on camera video

The PosEmo being developed as part of the project will allow automatic recognition of a person’s engagement and intensity of emotional response based on the camera image. Research shows that the behavior of a person in front of the camera: how often the person moves, how far he/she is from the screen/camera and how this distance changes over time, can be an indicator of a person’s emotional involvement in the content appearing on the screen. The solution can be used in: studying the usability and user experience of graphical interfaces of computer applications, as a feature of videoconferencing programs, or in educational scenarios to automatically collect feedback (response) from users (meeting participants).
