
As busy as a bee – that’s how most of us here at PSNC could reply to a casual how are you. Is it bad? No, not at all – because there’s a lot of exciting news connected with what has been going on recently both inside and outside our Center! Let’s get straight to the point then.
The EuroQHPC-Integration project has been launched, so if you are interested in the integration of quantum technologies with supercomputers, you may want to learn about the EuroQCS-Poland system, which is going to be created at our Center. And have you heard about the 35th GÉANT General Assembly? Well, it was organised in the city of Poznań and CBPIO (our headquarters) was one of the places where one could meet high GÉANT officials.
PSNC’s contribution into the development of European future technologies and a strong quantum computing ecosystem was appreciated by the Alpine Quantum Technologies. How? You can read about it in this issue of our News!

The EuroQHPC-Integration project was launched during the EuroHPC Summit in Kraków. The project was initiated by the EuroHPC JU and six other consortia in order to create a European infrastructure enabling the integration of quantum technologies with supercomputers. EuroQCS-Poland, which is located at PSNC, will be responsible for a digital quantum computer based on ion traps with over 20 physical qubits.
The 35th GÉANT General Assembly took place at the PSNC headquarters during the early days of March. Representatives of the organization discussed the most important issues related to project budget, the next stages of service implementation, as well as the execution of complex plans and investments. A working meeting of the SEE – Forum of Directors of Eastern European NRENs was also organized in the Capital of Wielkopolska as an accompanying event.
The CEO of AQT Thomas Monz presented a special statuette to Robert Pękal, the Director of PSNC, as a symbolic gesture of appreciation for PSNC’s contribution to the development of European future technologies and the Poznań Center’s creation of a strong quantum computing ecosystem. It was one of the highlights of the EuroHPC Summit 2025 in Kraków.
In March PSNC headquarters hosted a working meeting summarizing the activities carried out within the EOSC EU Node. The goal was to prepare an action plan enabling the implementation of 13 new national nodes within the framework of a single European EOSC federation yet in 2025.
On March 17 PSNC headquarters was temporarily turned into a training facility for specialists in the field of neurology who were researching the use of quantum computing in brain science. The event showcased three directions of approaching the topic: theoretical, practical and educational.
Projects
The ECHOES project aims to create a European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH), a platform providing cultural heritage professionals and researchers with access to data, scientific resources, training, and advanced digital tools tailored to their needs. 25 May 2025 marks the deadline for submitting applications for the ECHOES grants.
