SAGE
The Data Space for a Sustainable Green Europe

The SAGE project aims to establish a fully operational Green Deal Data Space (GDDS) to improve accessibility, integration, and use of green and environmental data across the EU. The GDDS supports key pillars of the European Green Deal, including Zero Pollution, Climate Adaptation, Biodiversity, and the Circular Economy. Building on previous initiatives and aligned with the Digital Europe Programme, SAGE focuses on federating fragmented environmental datasets, enhancing data quality and interoperability, and enabling advanced data processing and analytics.

SAGE targets a wide range of stakeholders, including businesses aiming to comply with EU environmental regulations, government agencies optimizing policy decisions, researchers advancing environmental knowledge, and citizen scientists engaging in environmental monitoring. The project will demonstrate its value through 10 real-world use cases supporting the European Green Deal goals, ensuring practical impact and fostering further adoption.

Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) leads Task T4.2, focused on establishing collaboration with Horizon Europe projects to maximize synergies. PSNC contributes expertise from the AD4GD project and plays an important role in the architectural design of the GDDS. Additionally, PSNC is involved in implementing biodiversity use cases within Work Package 5, supporting practical applications in this field.

The project consortium consists of 43 partners from 14 European countries, bringing together expertise from industry, research, and public sectors to deliver a sustainable data ecosystem. The sustainability of the GDDS will be ensured through the establishment of a company during the project’s lifetime to operate and scale the data space beyond the project duration.
