Cisco Systems visits PSNC

Representatives of the world’s leader in the field of network systems, data centers and voice technology visited the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center in search of new areas of cooperation. Members of the Cisco Systems delegation visited the 4K high-definition television Laboratory in the building of Westpoint, supercomputing room, network room and management center.

About the future of the Internet in Belgium

Since Monday, 13.12.2010 the city of Ghent, Belgium, hosts the most important European meeting of experts in the field of Future Internet. For five days the participants of Future Internet Week will be able to participate in several conferences on issues affecting the Internet of tomorrow, such as new network architectures and deployment of next-generation IP (IPv6), living labs and intelligent cities and the main event gathering institutions of the Future Internet – Future Internet Assembly (FIA). The series of conferences is also attended by a group of specialists from PSNC, due to the fact that the next edition of Future Internet Week will be held in Poznań.

In Warsaw, on the 7th of December, 2010 there was held a second seminar in the series of Computerization of Cultural Institutions – Cultural Institutions on the Internet. The objective was to demonstrate how cultural institutions can exist and promote themselves on the Internet, and going further, what are the benefits of their presence in the world wide web.

Supercomputers in the hands of artists

It is widely known that artists can find inspiration everywhere, even in places where ordinary people can not find it. It turns out that the latest technology can also be the inspiration. The relationship of art and technology will be discussed during the Warsaw Electronic Festival Conference (WEFCON) on 3rd and 4th December 2010. One of the workshops will be conducted by Marek Zawadzki from the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center.
