We invite companies interested in the implementation of the ideas awardeded in “The Practice of Computer Science Specialist” competition.

18th and 19th January in Säxnas (Sweden) was held a seminar for the partners of leading sub-projects financed under Creator mini-programme. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center.

Representatives of the world’s leader in the field of network systems, data centers and voice technology visited the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center in search of new areas of cooperation. Members of the Cisco Systems delegation visited the 4K high-definition television Laboratory in the building of Westpoint, supercomputing room, network room and management center.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday (11th-12th January) in Warsaw, a conference devoted to the new project – SYNAT, will take place, presenting draft research plans and results obtained during the first months of its implementation. Admission is free and open to all interested parties.

Since Monday, 13.12.2010 the city of Ghent, Belgium, hosts the most important European meeting of experts in the field of Future Internet. For five days the participants of Future Internet Week will be able to participate in several conferences on issues affecting the Internet of tomorrow, such as new network architectures and deployment of next-generation IP (IPv6), living labs and intelligent cities and the main event gathering institutions of the Future Internet – Future Internet Assembly (FIA). The series of conferences is also attended by a group of specialists from PSNC, due to the fact that the next edition of Future Internet Week will be held in Poznań.

In Warsaw, on the 7th of December, 2010 there was held a second seminar in the series of Computerization of Cultural Institutions – Cultural Institutions on the Internet. The objective was to demonstrate how cultural institutions can exist and promote themselves on the Internet, and going further, what are the benefits of their presence in the world wide web.

This year’s edition of the “Cyfrowe spotkania z zabytkami 4″ conference was organised with subtitle “Cultural Heritage on the Web: Access and Exchange of Information.”. The conference brought together representatives of various institutions including libraries, museums, archives, humanists and computer science specialists.

Security Team of Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center presented th effects of their work at an international IT security Confidence 2.0 conference, which was held in Prague on 29-30 November.

The second edition of i3 Conference: Internet – Infrastructures – Innovations held in Wroclaw is behind us. Although the window there was a truly arctic weather in the halls of sessions the atmosphere was hot.

On 10th December 2010 will take place 13th scientific session of the “Double voice of Science” devoted to the sacred memory of Professor Gerard Labuda. The ceremony is hosted by the President of the Poznan’s Department of the Polish Academy of Sciences – Professor Jan Węglarz.

During this year’s i3 Conference the Board of the PIONIER Consortium honored the efforts of the officials in the creation of Wroclaw City URBANCARD.
