WEDROWNIQ – Polish Infrastructure of Satellite Quantum Communication Systems

WEDROWNIQ – Polish Infrastructure of Satellite Quantum Communication Systems

The WEDROWNIQ project, focusing on Polish infrastructure of satellite quantum communication systems, is meant to create a proper infrastructure for the development, analysis and integration of quantum communication systems operating in free space, with particular emphasis on communication in the satellite segment.

The developed solutions will be in line with the development concepts of the European Quantum Communication Infrastructure EuroQCI and its Polish segment – the PIONIER-Q network, as well as the scenarios for the use of quantum communication for the purposes of a distributed metrology infrastructure and quantum computing developed in the EuroQCS and EuroQSM initiatives.

The infrastructure will also enable the simultaneous development of classic satellite optical communication schemes for fast data exchange with low latency and advanced methods of satellite tracking. The potential of quantum communication terrestrial stations and the accompanying infrastructure enables the development of new solutions in the field of secure communication systems, general quantum communication and quantum communication for distributed quantum computing.

The project is planned for the years 2021-2027.
