eDWIN takes part in a prestigious competition: we invite you to vote

The eDWIN platform, developed in cooperation between the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center and the Wielkopolska Agricultural Advisory Center, has a chance to be recognised in the prestigious international WSIS competition, which selects projects and information and communication technologies to support sustainable development. The eDWIN platform has been nominated in the e-Agriculture category.

Voting will take place online on the WSIS website.

WSIS is the World Summit on the Information Society under the auspices of the United Nations General Assembly. One of its tasks is to promote the most interesting digital projects in the economies of individual countries, including the competition in which the Internet-based Platform for Advice and Decision Support in Integrated Plant Protection has just reached the second stage.

WSIS partners include the World Telecommunication Union, UNESCO and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). This year’s WSIS+20 competition marks a milestone in twenty years of progress in implementing the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society, which took place in two phases – in Geneva in 2003 and in Tunis in 2005. Twenty years ago, the WSIS established a framework for global digital cooperation with the vision of building information and knowledge-based, people-centred, inclusive and development-oriented societies.
