Solemn meeting of the PIONIER Consortium combined with a scientific session, held on 13th and 14th may in Zakopane, officially completes the construction of the PIONIER network.

For four days, from 11th to 14th May 2011 – Cracow became the world capital of Java. All that because of International GeeCON Conference. PSNC is the technical partner of this event.

Vice President of Poznan – Tomasz Kayser took part in a teleconference with participants of the 5th Local Economic Forum in Tbilisi. PSNC was the technical partner of the project.

Cloud computing will be the main theme of the jubilee Conference of the Microsoft Innovation Center on its 5th anniversary. The conference will be held June 16 at the headquarter of PSNC at Wieniawskiego Street.

„The Path Forward, Envisioning Opportunities” is the theme around which will focus the spring Internet2 meeting, held from 18th to 20th April 2011 in Arlington (Virginia). The meeting will be attended by representatives from Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center and the PIONIER Consortium.

From 13th to 15th April in Warsaw the International Fair of Technology and Equipment for the Police and National Security EUROPOLTECH 2011 is held. The event will be attended by representatives of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, who during the second day of the conference will present the results of research carried out under the Polish Platform for Homeland Security.

On the 2nd and 3rd of March in Hilversum (Netherlands) first hackaton organized by Europeana took place. Hackaton is an informal workshop to show (in this case) possibilities of Europeana API usage. During two days developers had opportunity to create an interesting projects – sketches, prototypes or even complete applications. Workshop was held in the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision (Beeld en Geluid).

In what direction should Poznań agglomeration develop, what may attract investors and whether the capital of Wielkopolska is a place for innovative projects. These and many other issues were discussed by the participants on the Fourth Economic Forum of the Poznań Agglomeration – representatives of local governments, researchers and entrepreneurs.

In the part of the festival dedicated to physics, astronomy and IT fans PSNC presented the KIWI platform.

MCG, Multimedia City Guide, again proved to be the best. During the International Conference V4DiS/ISSS LORIS in Hradec Kralove, Poznan received a Euro Crest Aw@rd for the best website in 2011 in the contest of the best site of the city.

„Invest in the best” – is the motto of 4th Economic Forum of the Poznań Agglomeration. This year’s conference, which will be held on 6th April 2011, will be devoted to the issue of the future of investments planned in the Poznań agglomeration.

Mateusz Drygas and Marcin Jerzak from PSNC Security Team will participate in an online chat about digital security in business activity. Virtual meeting will be organised next Thursday by the Enterprise Europe Network, operating at the Lower Silesian Regional Development Agency.
