This year’s edition of the Researchers’ Night, which is a very popular event among the children and adults in Poznan, will be held entirely on-line. On November 27, the organizers invite the participants to a virtual studio to a “live” broadcast, and viewers will have access to 8 thematic channels. The organization of the Researchers’ Night in the “remote” version is caused by the current epidemiological situation. Despite the limitations, representatives of Poznan universities and institutes do not resign from meeting with science enthusiasts. They prepared video materials that will be presented “live”, as well as in the VOD version, also available after the event.

The Foundation for the Development of the City of Poznan has launched a new project consisting of interviews with interesting people related to the capital of Wielkopolska Region. POZcast - let's talk about Poznań is an initiative that brings the functioning and development of Poznań to a wider audience. PSNC is the technological partner of this project.
The European mining industry is increasingly looking for solutions to redesign traditional mining processes through the adoption of pioneering innovations, accompanied by the extensive use of data analytics and new types of technology use, in particular the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The EU-funded illuMINEation project will create a multi-level distributed IIoT platform, which will be developed by a consortium created together with PSNC.
At the beginning of 2021, a new parallel processing system (HPC supercomputer), purchased under the PRACE-LAB project, will be put into operation. This system, included in the TOP500 list of the fastest computers in the world, is the result of building a national, distributed HPC system for parallel computing, financed under the OP IR structural funds, measure 4.2 in the field of research infrastructure of particular importance for Poland.
Traditionally, at the beginning of December, the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Prof. Jerzy Duszyński, distinguished personalities with the most outstanding scientific achievements in the past year. Among the winners is Prof. Jan Węglarz, co-founder and long-time Director of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center.
Verification and evaluation of project applications submitted under the Operational Programme Intelligent Development 2014-2020 Action 4.2 4/4.2/2020 has been completed. Out of 8 applications selected for funding, three projects will be co-implemented by PSNC.
On January 14-17, 2021, Teatr Wielki in Poznan will stage again performances as part of the experimental opera project "ISOLATION: Carmen/Don Giovanni/Don Pasquale" directed by Krzysztof Cichenski in the theater foyer. PSNC will record and broadcast the event on the Internet
The project entitled "Wielkopolanie w wojnie polsko-bolszewickiej 1920 roku" was financed from the budget of the Voivode of the Wielkopolska Region within the competition from the "Niepodlegla" Multiannual Program of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. One of the aims of the project was to create scenarios of ready-made lessons, which will help to preserve the memory and heritage of the defenders of young Polish independence. PSNC is responsible for the technological implementation, digitization, and multimedia of the project.
During the virtual gala, the National Contact Point for EU Research Programmes presented the prizes for the most active Polish participants in the Horizon 2020 Framework Program (2014-2020). The Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences together with the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center were awarded for the fifth time in the history.

This time online, with the help of webcams, we will visit laboratories to discover the fascinating secrets of the world of knowledge. As in previous years, PSNC is actively involved in organizing this event.
On November 16th, 2020 PSNC television studio hosted the second edition of Transatlantic Orthopaedic Live Surgery Broadcast. Thanks to the medVC platform, the event was attended by nearly 7 000 doctors from 28 countries around the world.
This weekend, on November 8 and 9, 2020, the first edition of this year's Auditory Festival will take place, which is part of the "Listening Horizon" program of the Biennale Mediations Polska. Thanks to the cooperation with the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, the event will be held entirely online.
After the success of last year's CLAW (Crisis Management Workshop), organized for the NREN community (National Research and Education Network) at PSNC headquarters, this year's edition was held online. The coronavirus pandemic did not allow to organize the meeting in the capital of Wielkpolska Region once again, but this exceptional situation did not prevent the development and organization of the next interactive crisis management classes.

The second episode of the ITM_talks online discussion, organized by the MTP Group, was devoted to the autonomy of robots and the digital transformation of the industry. The panel was attended by dr Krzysztof Kurowski - Technical Director of PSNC.
In the weekly "Polityka" you can read an article about technologies that help to monitor apiaries. The author mentions the EU project DEMETER, which is to promote the use of IoT sensors in agriculture. PSNC is the partner of this project.
On the "Cultural Base" (polish: "Kultura u Podstaw") portal of the Culture Department of the Marshal's Office in the Wielkopolska Region we can read an interview with Jan Skorupa from PSNC's New Media Department. The interview discusses, among others, the issues of development works conducted at PSNC within the CBPIO and FutureLabs projects.
The opening session of this year's TNC conference was scheduled for today, 8 June 2020. As in previous years, PSNC was supposed to act as a technological partner. Unfortunately, the organizers, due to the persisting coronavirus epidemic, decided to postpone the conference for a year.
