Future Internet Week will be held in Poznan from 24-28 October 2011. The conference consists of a series of events organized under the aegis of the European Union – “Future Internet Event” (Future Internet Conference and the Future Internet Assembly) and a number of interesting side events. Today we invite you to register and take part in this extraordinary event.

Exactly 20 years ago, 17th August 1991, for the first time in Poland are connected to the Internet. Rafał Pietrak of Warsaw University for the first time made contact with Jan Sorensen, an employee of the University of Copenhagen based on the protocol TCP/IP. Today, nobody in the country on the Vistula can not imagine life without the Network.

Tests on a new page have been in progress since February 2011, and almost 700 people have been working on it. Although the new version of the web site was available earlier, changes have permanently been introduced only a few days ago.

Nine Polish students participatng in this year’s competition took the podium. Among them, Poznan Cellardoor team. They won in the category of Web applications, presenting the interactive books project.

Art4Europe Application, winner of the Poznan Hack4Europe edition in the category of the greatest commercial potential, was among the four best European applications. Creators of the project received the award at the Digital Agenda Assembly in Brussels.
