PSNC presents the high-end technologies
The second day of the conference ran under the slogan “the right to protection of identity” in the digital world, management of personal and social information, including in the context of preserving heritage and culture. In addition to the Grid technology, advanced network architectures, services and data federation, also the digital content solutions were discussed, including the results of research on television with a resolution of 4K, conducted by the institution from Poznań.
Afternoon session, centered around the use of the media network, was an opportunity to present Polish achievements in the field of application for the visualization of high-quality (high-end visual applications). In this block two presentations were made by PSNC representatives: Dr. Krzysztof Kurowski presented “The challenges of new multimedia and network applications”, while Maciej Głowiak introduced “New generation media in science and entertainment”.

Both sessions were broadcast live by the TERENA service (http://tnc2010.terena.org/schedule/sessions/show.php?sess_id=17). They will also be available as an archive after the session.

    3D-4CH is a European project the goal of which is to revolutionize the way cultural heritage is protected, digitized, and made accessible through the use of advanced 3D technologies, artificial intelligence, and extended reality. Now you can also contribute to saving the precious cultural heritage for the next generations.     The Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PCSS) and Wielkopolska Agency for Enterprise Development (WARP) signed a letter of intent regarding cooperation in the area of cybersecurity. In its initial phase, the cooperation will feature the dissemination and promotion of information about cybersecurity and the security of ICT systems among entrepreneurs in Wielkopolska (Greater Poland) Voivodeship.

    Q-Chronos Kick-off Meeting

    The initial meeting of the Q-Chronos project took place at the PCSS headquarters on 5 June 5 2025. In practice this project is a system of mobile quantum sensors with optical clocks integrated into telecommunication networks. All project consortium members participated in the event. Apart from the PCSS specialists, there were representatives from the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CBK PAN), Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, and AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków.

    Quantum Technology in Theory and in Practice: PCSS at the Women In Tech Summit 2025

    Another edition of the Women In Tech Summit took place in Warsaw. The three days (3-5 June 2025) of this technological conference were a great opportunity to share experiences with representatives of many scientific institutions. They also confirmed an enormous interest in quantum technologies, reflected, among others, in the creation of a separate quantum path within this summit, consisting of over a dozen events entirely devoted exclusively to quantum topics.

    On 5 and 6 June 2025, PCSS headquarters (CBPIO) was the heart of the EmpowerHer project created for women who have survived breast cancer and are currently returning to normal life. The first day was divided into a hybrid meeting of experts (Expert Team EmpowerHer) and discussions among partners of this very special undertaking, which continued on day two.

    The first edition of the European Science Fair (June 3-6, 2025) has commenced in Poznań. This event is an integral part of ITM INDUSTRY EUROPE – the largest trade fair event in Central and Eastern Europe, where companies from around the world showcase solutions aligned with the Industry 4.0 concept. The combination of science and industry is what we do at PCSS, so our Center had to be present at the Poznań International Fair grounds, where it all takes place.

PSNC specialists who participate in the Superheroes 4 Science project created a very special game which combines science and fun! The game is called “Parallel Quest” and it guides its players through the mysteries of supercomputers and parallel programming. Surprisingly enough, that quest is available both as a traditional board game and an online entity which pops up in your regular browser.

The main objective of the project is to provide Kąkolewo Airport with scientific and research infrastructure for conducting research and development work in the fields of air transport, utility operations, logistics, monitoring, surveillance and neutralisation of incidents and disasters.
