EOSC-Poland presentation at the 10th anniversary of the Jagiellonian University Repository

A national conference entitled ‘Digital Academic Repositories: people, tools and directions of change’ will be held on 14 and 15 March 2024 at the Jagiellonian University campus in Krakow. During the first day of the event, Krzysztof Kurowski, Ph.D., Deputy Director of PSNC will participate in a panel concerning the national research infrastructure EOSC-POLAND.

The aim of the conference is to analyse the past, present and attempt to diagnose the future of digital repositories. The topics of the event are broadly defined as: open access e-infrastructure, digital content management, the role and importance of digital repositories in the changing model of scientific communication, the functioning of repository systems, the management of publications and research data, the skills of digital collection managers, he skills for open science and the impact of open communication on science, as well as deepening the general awareness of the importance of openness of knowledge resources for economic and social development.

The last panel of the first day of the conference (15.50, 14.03.) will be dedicated to the institutions responsible for the development of the national research infrastructure EOSC-Poland. The European Open Science Cloud is an ecosystem of interconnected environments for storing and processing research results in line with the EU’s open science assumptions. The process of creating the EOSC, was initiated by the European Commission back in 2015 and is one of the largest open science initiatives in the world. On behalf of the consortium partners responsible for the development of the Polish component of the EOSC, the speakers will be: Aneta Pazik-Aybar, Ph.D. (National Science Centre), Jakub Szprot, Ph.D. (ICM, University of Warsaw) and Krzysztof Kurowski, Ph.D. (PSNC).
