PIONIER.TV “Hot science: Key to COVID-19”

The challenge of breaking the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus code was undertaken by a team of scientists from the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences. For this purpose, the project “TMPRSS2 – a potential target for new drugs and a determinant of the course of COVID-19” was created, which is primarily to answer the question why the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 is often asymptomatic and in other cases ends up as a struggle for life. Dr Paweł Zmora from the Department of Structural Chemistry and Biology of Nucleic Acids, IBCH PAS, talks about the details in the newest episode of Pionier.TV “Hot science”.

The project involves the examination of about 2,000 people, and the result of this research may be an effective drug for the coronavirus.

We invite you to the Pionier.TV material, prepared in cooperation between IBCH PAS and PSNC.
