The current TOP500 list of the world’s fastest supercomputers has been announced at the Supercomputing conference. The PSNC supercomputing system Altair is at #221 (63,360 Cores, 3.53 Rmax (PFlop/s) position. Among the most powerful computers there are also three other Polish machines (all from ACK Cyfronet AGH): Athena (47,616 Cores, 5.05 Rmax [PFlop/s]) at #155th, Helios (75,264 Cores, 2.89 Rmax [PFlop/s]) at #291 and Ares (37,824 Cores, 2.34 Rmax [PFlop/s]) at #404.
Just like Ares supercomputer, Altair was purchased as part of the PRACE-LAB national project. All of this year’s top three machines come from the US: Frontier (8,699,904 Cores, 1,194.00 Rmax [PFlop/s]), Aurora (4,742,808 Cores, 585.34 Rmax [PFlop/s]) and Eagle (1,123,200 Cores, 561.20 Rmax [PFlop/s]).

ISC’24: PSNC systems again in the IO500 ranking

The HPC data storage system at the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center has again been highly ranked in the prestigious IO500 competition held during the ISC High Performance 2024 conference. The system took 8th place in the '10 Node Production List' category, in which it was listed for the first time, and 14th place in the 'Production List' category, in which the PSNC system has been present since 2023.
