PSNC Podcast: The fastest data storage systems

The explosion of Big Data, Data Science and AI applications means that IT systems need ever faster access to data, using ever larger data collections and ever more files. The efficiency of data access is the key to the efficiency of computing, and thus to progress in research, education or business. In the sixth episode of the PSNC Podcast, we talk about the fastest data storage systems.

Effective data sharing for HPC clusters (supercomputers) or cloud systems requires special approaches, system architectures and the use of advanced technology, hardware and software.

Krzysztof Wadówka and Krzysztof Błoniarz, architects of data management systems at PSNC, will talk about the challenges faced by modern data storage systems and the ways of solving them. And the opportunity to do so is unusual – the latest system at PSNC, which our interviewees helped to design, was ranked 10th on the prestigious global IO500 list of the world’s fastest data storage systems.

The interview was conducted by Gabriela Jelonek and Bartosz Lewandowski.
