Security Research Conference 2011 in Warsaw
Organized under the Polish presidency of the EU Council, European conference for security – Security Research Conference, organized annually, will be held in Warsaw from 19th-21st September 2011.

This year in the capital of Poland all the security stakeholders will meet for the sixth time. Policy makers, researchers, industry representatives and end users from all over Europe will talk about the current research capabilities as well as the legal, technological and organisational solutions for the greatest challenges facing public security today.

Two days of the conference will be organised in five plenary sessions and six parallel sessions. Prominent European speakers including Jerzy Buzek – President of the European Parliament, Barbara Kudrycka – Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland and Jerzy Miller – Minister of Interior and Administration of the Republic of Poland will present the following topics:

Directions of security research in Europe from European Parliament, European Commission and Polish Presidency perspective;
Forward look at European Security Research in context of next financial perspective and Common Strategic Framework development;
Emerging challenges for Security in Europe.

Plenary sessions will be supplemented by the thematic parallel sessions dedicated to important problems and challenges that European Union is facing in the area of security. Following topics will be covered there:

Innovative forensic technologies – including readiness building for CBRN scenarios in Europe;
Capacities of satellite technologies in security domain – crisis management support experiences from floods in Poland in 2010;
Border Security – technology transfer to border security authorities and their input as a key driver for product development;
Advanced technologies for penal procedure covering developments of IT tools for clear and fair presentation of evidences in complex e.g.: money-laundering cases as a factor of raising security of financial operations;
Dual use technologies for security. CBRN threats detection, protection and response. Looking for synergies in the EDA–EC FP7 cooperation;
Integration of societal aspects into EU research in security.

One of the presentations will be devoted to “Advanced Architecture of the integrated enhanced security ICT platform“ project which combines the knowledge and experience of ICT Cluster Wielkopolska and Polish Platform for Homeland Security.
