Agreement on cooperation within the Spatial Information System of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship

Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center signed a cooperation agreement with the Marshal’s Office of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań to integrate and jointly promote the Spatial Information System of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship (SIPWW) and collections within the AMUNATCOLL project.

Thanks to the publication of data from the AMUNATCOLL IT database (Natural collections of the Adam Mickiewicz University on the Internet: digitization and sharing of natural data resources of the Faculty of Biology of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań) in the Spatial Information System of the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship, it will be possible to analyze data multidimensionally by many groups of users at the planning stage or expansion of the projects, including investment activities and all social initiatives.

The agreement is the result of the AMUNATCOLL project, which digitised more than 2 million botanical and zoological specimens and developed a portal together with a mobile application for explring the collected data. The database is integrated with the international biodiversity database (GBIF: The Global Biodiversity Information Facility), where the shared data has already been cited over 160 times.
