Ambisonic audio and 360° video recording as part of the Immersify project

In the Okraglak building in Poznan, an ambisonic sound and 360° video recording of Karambabula band took place within the Immersify project.

Immersify project focuses on four aspects of new media and virtual reality. First of all, due to higher resolution, higher refresh rate and VR requirements, it is necessary to work on a new image compression technology. The second thing is to support a variety of display devices, from glasses and helmets to virtual reality in consumer applications, up to specialized visualization installations located in scientific centers. Thirdly, developers of video content, 2D and 3D computer graphics and interactive mechanisms should be able to combine different technologies based on the tools developed in the project. The last aspect related to the project is the promotion of solutions and presentation of the outcomes. The consortium assumes participation in world-renowned events and festivals, such as the Ars Electronica Festival or the Cannes International Film Festival. On these occasions, specially developed content and accompanying tools will be shown to create innovative film material for high resolution and VR.

KRAMBABULA is a folk-rock band from Poznan. They play an energetic mix of Slavic folk music with a touch of rock. The lyrics of the performed songs are in Lemko, Ukrainian and Polish language. Many of them are pieces of traditional music, sung in a so called white voice and filtered by various musical passions of the group members.
