Culture on the Web: co-financing for the “Concert machine” project

The project, submitted by the cooperation of the “an_ARCHE New Music Foundation”, the Telematics Laboratory of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan and PSNC, was among 1200 beneficiaries for cultural activities online as part of the “Culture on the Web” program, organized by the National Center for Culture.

The “Concert machine” will be a kind of internet portal (telematic music environment) combining the functions of:

  • popularization (broadcasts from concerts, improvisations and rehearsals),
  • artistic (composer’s orders),
  • research (live music in many places simultaneously, interactive audience participation).

The initiators of the project are convincednthat its final effect will be a starter package: a web portal, with its unique features of interaction between the artist and the virtual audience, its basic functionality as well as order possibility as well as implementation of four compositions for musicians in many locations and with the participation of the interactive audience. The project duration is quite short, the results should be ready in the second half of this year.

The “Culture on the Web” program met with great interest, actually the largest in the history of grant programs of the National Center of Culture. A total of 5,948 applications were submitted to the program for a total amount of over PLN 471 million. After formal and substantive evaluation, 1,182 winning projects were selected. The contracting phase and the launch of the first grant payments will start in May.
