Dr Eng. Norbert Meyer appointed to the 2nd edition of the INFRAG Group

In April this year, the second edition of the INFRAG expert group was established. It is an independent group of experts, operating at EuroHPC, whose task is to define long-term plans for the development of infrastructure for advanced computing (HPC), including the requirements for the data infrastructure and associated services. Director of Data Processing Technologies Division – Norbert Meyer, Ph.D. has been reappointed to the new INFRAG group.

With regard to the development of HPC in Europe and worldwide, the INFRAG group (Infrastructure Advisory Group) in cooperation with RIAG (Research Infrastructure Advisory Group) are both involved in setting the directions for the strategic development of research in the area of advanced computing and data services.

In its first edition, INFRAG contributed to the definition of requirements to be followed in the construction of pre-exascale systems in Europe as a first step in the construction of exascale systems. The first 3 pre-exascale systems are currently under construction at CSC (Finland), CINECA (Italy) and BSC (Spain).
