As a result of the competition proceedings, the Competition Committee has selected the candidacy of Dr hab. Luiza Handschuh, Professor of IBCH PAS for the position of Director of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS. Luiza Handschuh has been appointed for a four-year term, which will begin on 1 December 2023.
Dr Luiza Handschuh has been professionally associated with the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS since 2006. She has worked successively at the positions of assistant, assistant professor and senior specialist. For the past eight years she has been the Head of the Genomics Laboratory, where she co-created the Polish genetic test for SARS-CoV-2. In January last year, Luiza Handschuh took up the position of Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS in Poznań.

On 14 March 2024, a new map of test and accelerator areas under the NATO's Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) programme was announced. The PSNC AerospaceLab in Kąkolewo is one of dozens of locations already selected in the North Atlantic Alliance for test centres (DIANA Test Centres). A new Polish contribution to the programme is the AGH University of Krakow, which together with the Krakow Technology Park will jointly run a branch of the NATO Defence Innovation Accelerator (Krakow DIANA Accelerator).
