Inauguration of the project with ITWL – quantum technologies in air traffic management
The kick-off meeting of the project “The use of quantum technologies in the air traffic management of Polish Armed Forces” (QATM) was held on June 15, 2021 at the site of Air Force Institute of Technology. The project is co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development under the competition No.1/ SZAFIR/2020 for the implementation and financing of projects carried out for the national defence and security.

The aim of the project is to obtain a quantum advantage in the form of real-time solutions based on algorithmizations and solving the problem of management of objects that are in the airspace. The main idea is to use quantum technologies to provide optimized and real-time updated plans and schedules for complex tasks.

Project consortium members are:
Air Force Institute of Technology (leader), represented at the meeting by ITWL Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs Prof. Andrzej Żyluk, Ph.D., D.Sc.Eng.
– Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences – Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, represented by the Technical Director of PSNC, Krzysztof Kurowski, Ph.D.
EXENCE SA, represented by its Vice-President Arkadiusz Mrugała.
