Within the NLPQT project – National Laboratory for Photonics and Quantum Technologies – a transmission link of Quantum Key Distribution technology between Poznan and Warsaw was launched. QKD transmission system uses dedicated fibres of PIONIER network with total length of 380 km.
This system uses a configuration of so-called “trusted nodes” and has five intermediate transmission nodes, allowing to use the services of QKD system . The link is based on the latest generation of equipment from IDQuantique – CerberisXG. QKD transmission system is monitored and managed by the PIONIER network infrastructure.

On 14 March 2024, a new map of test and accelerator areas under the NATO's Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) programme was announced. The PSNC AerospaceLab in Kąkolewo is one of dozens of locations already selected in the North Atlantic Alliance for test centres (DIANA Test Centres). A new Polish contribution to the programme is the AGH University of Krakow, which together with the Krakow Technology Park will jointly run a branch of the NATO Defence Innovation Accelerator (Krakow DIANA Accelerator).
