“PIONIER’s conversation: Theatre in the time of pandemic”

The coronavirus pandemic has changed almost every aspect of our lives – from everyday, private matters to professional work. The pandemic has left its mark on culture and art, especially film and theatre. Cinemas, galleries and theaters were closed for many weeks. Thanks to the cooperation of PSNC and Teatr Nowy in Poznan, we managed to make direct broadcasts of several performances, attracting thousands of viewers in front of computer screens.

Błażej Oczkowski (PSNC) invited Piotr Kruszczyński – Director of Teatr Nowy in Poznan, to the newest episode of “PIONIER’s conversation”. The interview was recorded during the preparations for the online live broadcast of the show „Dziewczynka z za/przyszłość boli tylko raz”. The conversation was different, as the interlocutors were wearing the visors and were sitting at a secure distance. They talk about how the theatre works remotely when direct contact with the viewer is not possible. We will also have a look at the backstage of the streaming process of the theatre performance, in which Teatr Nowy supports PSNC as well as some shots of the earlier collaboration of both institutions – the performance entitled “Subfebrile state. Bibobit/Osiecka”, also available on the Internet at the beginning of the pandemic.
