PSNC as a partner of the Better Education 2023 Conference

During the 14th edition of the Better Education Conference, held on February 17 and 18, 2023 in Września, participants had the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in the use of information and communication technologies in education. Among the speakers were representatives of the Ministry of Education and Higher Science, research centers, university professors and managers implementing modern solutions in education. The event was also attended by specialists from the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center.

The conference program included debates, lectures and practical workshops, during which participants could learn about various methods of working with students, both in formal education and beyond.

PSNC marked its presence in a special way; during the plenary session, Zbigniew Karwasinski – trainer and education consultant in the Advanced Visualization and Interaction Department – presented the implementation of STEAM educational projects, and representatives of Dell company invited the participants to join the Artificial Intelligence courses for schools implemented in cooperation with PSNC. During the workshop session, PSNC demonstrated tools for managing educational projects, implemented as part of the PIONIER Research & Classroom project, as well as the Open Lesson – “Innovators of Tomorrow 2040”, implemented in cooperation with Primary School No. 6 in Września.

The conference also saw the premiere of a series of short instructional videos for teachers about working in the STEAM model, produced by PSNC. The specifics of STEAM were presented during the conference by, among others, Prof. Marlena Plebańska (University of Warsaw), Prof. Natalia Walter (Adam Mickiewicz University), Dr. hab. Agnieszka Iwanicka, Zbyszek Karwasinski (Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center).

Thanks to the presented video materials, teachers had the opportunity to learn what STEAM is and what methods work best in this type of classes.
