On 10 April 2025 over 50 high school students from the southern part of Wielkopolska (Greater Poland) took part in the 17th edition of the Regional IT Competition. PSNC was there in the city of Jarocin where it all took place, to offer its partnership and support.
The competition was split into two levels. After the first one, which was focused only on theory, the number of participants shrunk from 50 to 17. Only the best of them survived the following practical part, in which they had to face challenges of computing, databases, and spreadsheets. Eventually the jury decided to award three winners: Jakub Poloszyk (#1), Oliwier Wawrzyniak (#2) and Jan Stefanowicz (#3). Who knows, maybe one day they will join PSNC as young engineers?
Our Center not only funded prizes for the finalists, but also organized open lectures for participants. Michał Urbaniak from PSNC’s Internet of Things Department presented his career path: from a high school graduate, then a student of Computer Science at the Poznań University of Technology, to a programmer at PSNC. Not only did he encourage visits to the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center but also outlined the history, mission, and challenges undertaken by PSNC.
