QualiPSo: Fifteenth plenary meeting

QualiPSo: Fifteenth plenary meeting
For three days, from October 26 to 28, representatives of competence centers from around the world discussed on the fifteenth plenary meeting of QualiPSo in Poznan. The meeting was an attempt to summarize the project ending early next year.
QualiPSo is an international project bringing together organizations from Europe, China and Brazil, financed by the European Union under the 6th Framework Programme. Employees of the aforementioned centers of competence and representatives of the Japanese Government Agency – IPA, met to exchange experiences and research results in the project.

A key problem coming up during the three-day plenary session was the transfer of knowledge between data centers and the presentation of their work results. This is connected with the main objective of the project, the creation of technology, procedures and policies to enable the full potential of open source software for large and demanding IT projects.

Fifteenth plenary meeting was an opportunity to discuss how to determine a common end of the project, how to build the value of the centers themselves, as well as how they should work. The last point is crucial in the context of the planned creation of a new generation of integrated environment, supporting the development of OSS software (QualiPSo Factory). In contrast to the existing centralized solutions, QualiPSo Factory architecture is based on the integration of distributed components and services.
